Family Party

My favorite part of Lily's birthday was our family party. I love to see the other kids get so excited and their efforts to make it a special day for her. They were busy making cards and coming up with the perfect gifts.

Carson made her a sweet card and made a necklace with a heart charm that he had found.

Emma also made her a darling card and gave her her old i pod since she just got a new one for her birthday.

Lily was so happy.

Here is Lily blowing out her candles on her wedge of cake. I had Lily and Brinn make the cake from scratch and lets just say it didn't hold together very well but it was still really tasty.

Lily's Birthday!!!

Happy birthday to Lily. I can not believe she is 6. I decided this year that she will now be getting younger with each birthday, unfortunately she didn't like that idea.:(

I didn't have ANYTHING planned for young Lily's birthday, so that morning I ask here what she wanted to do. Lucky for me she came up with a great plan. She wanted to go out to lunch at BJ's and them go to build a bear. We called Brinn and off we went.

Thank goodness for fun menus.

Picking out clothes.

Lily was thrilled when she found this David Archuleta shirt. I didn't know she was such a big fan.

Dinner with friends

I know it's a little late but I already uploaded the photos and we had such a fun time I hate to not post it.

This was our Easter dinner with friends. We invited 3 families over for dinner and an egg hunt. The dinner turned out pretty good except I forgot the potatoes in the oven. I kept looking at my plate and thinking something was missing but couldn't figure out what it was. (bad mom#2) And everyone else was too polite to remind me.

After dinner we hid eggs in the backyard and all the kids went hunting.

Diane handing out left over eggs from her Victoria Secret bag. I love it.

Pretty impressive pictures right? Little do you know that the hoop in on the lowest level.

Love this kid.

Carson and Aaron playing a little duet.

Diane was not wanting to be photographed so I take what I can get. Nice leg D.

Easter Morning

We had a wonderful Easter morning. Side note: Brent has decided to cook breakfast on Sundays this year because we have the late church schedule. He cooked up a tasty blueberry buckle and then the kids hunted for eggs and baskets.

One of the things my kids hear me say a lot is "life is not fair". This year the Easter bunny was very fair, everyone got the exact same thing. This Lego set made 3 different houses. They all picked a different model and made a cute little town.

The Eggs

Bad mom#1

Last year we dyed our eggs with natural things (cabbage, onion skins, etc.) and the colors were so pretty. I had all intentions to do that again. To make a long story short 8:30pm Saturday night rolled around and the kids asked about the colored eggs. That is when plan B started. Earlier in the week when I was looking for ways to color eggs online I ran across this idea that was fast and easy. We put 3 eggs in a colander and sprinkled them with vinegar and then dropped two different colors for food coloring on each egg and rolled it around. The kid were happy and we were done in 5 minutes.

Easter Weekend

We started our Easter weekend with a Saturday morning pancake breakfast and egg hunt with the ward. The kids and Brent loved the pancakes and fruity syrup selection. After stuffing down as many pancakes as they could we went out for the egg hunt which was divided into age groups to keep things fair.

Lily was first and was very happy that she found one of the two "prize" eggs.

Carson was next. I am sad to inform you that Carson did not find a "prize" egg which in turn ruined the day for Carson. Tears were shed.

Emma was the last to go. She is tall and fast so she really raked in the candy AND found one of the "prize" eggs. As you can imagine this did not go over well with Carson especially when they turned the eggs in for a small bucket of cotton candy.

April Fun!

April has been super fun so far. The kids are off track this month and we have had some beautiful weather. The first week we spent hours at different parks and riding bikes. I love these pictures because you can just see in their faces that they are saying "Mom, leave me alone and let me play". In fact there will be several pictures this month that will show my wonderful motherhood skills and I will be sure to point out a few of these things.

A few pictures or the kids at the Jungle or 3 Story Park. (I don't know the real name of this park.) My children have pick up our love for nick names and have come up with names for all the parks in town.
